Rand Paul and the State of Kentucky

Rand Paul is a registered Republican, however, he would be best described as Libertarian. Due to the popularity of the 2 parties, it was probably at his best interest to run as a republican rather than a Libertarian. Kentucky as a whole is a very safe Red area, with generally only the big cities like Louisville and Lexington being bluer.



Kentucky’s COVID response was fairly minimal, with the original lockdown like everyone else. They then released the lockdowns in June 2021, and lifted the mask mandate in September 2021. And like most states, Kentucky has had a worker shortage, with job openings growing and nobody wanting to take them.

As most of you may know, Rand Paul has been a very strong voice recently, taking aim at Dr. Fauci and protesting the mandates and debating the policy surrounding COVID response. Rand was generally not happy with COVID restrictions, and has been advocating against them the whole way through.

  Rand Paul Rand Paul : some love him, some hate him; but what else can you expect with a politician? Rand Paul was born January 7th, 1963, (which puts him at 59),  and was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to a Christian family, (a religion of which he still practices today). He attended Baylor University and went on to Duke University School of Medicine, where he trained to be an ophthalmologist. He began practicing ophthalmology in 1993, which is when he found himself living in Kentucky. Throughout his life, he was a firm believer in personal liberty and freedom, and has described himself as a constitutional conservative and supporter of the Tea Party, which is a Libertarian movement that calls for lower taxes and decreased government spending.
